Facebook Release 2014 Q1 Results

Facebook have released their 2014 Q1 financial performance results, and boy is it impressive! Not only has Mark Zuckerberg taken the company from zero to hero since its launch back in 2004, but he has transformed Facebook into a long term business strategy, that has seen them dominate the social networking space since its launch, and from these figures, for many years to come.

Facebook’s preferred Marketing Developer AdParlor put together an Infographic (which can also be seen below) displaying Facebook’s Q1 results. With total revenue reaching $2.5 billion! Facebook has seen their revenue increase to 72% year on year, great leadership or great team? These figures have been further complemented with the growth of mobile. Mobile daily active users increased by 43% to 609 million, which encouraged more mobile Facebook ads, generating $ 1.05 billion – a 30% increase year on year.

So what’s next for Mark Zuckerberg to achieve in 2014? Well if you think he isn’t dominating mobile enough – with his $19 billion acquisition of Whatsapp – he plans to further expand on the existing users of Instagram and Messenger who have recently hit 200 million monthly users, “For the next set of apps like Messenger, Instagram and hopefully soon WhatsApp, the current priority is growth. Messenger and Instagram both reached 200 million monthly actives this quarter. We believe these apps have a lot of room to grow and will start to be important businesses in the future, but monetization isn’t our near-term priority here.” – Mark Zuckerberg.

According to market research firm Gartner, 102 billion apps were downloaded in 2013 (91% of them free) and they generated $26 billion, up by 44.4%. So it is no surprise that Zuckerberg is planning on targeting mobile users, whether it’s through Facebook chats transition to the Messenger app, their acquisition of Whatsapp or their growth in Facebook Mobile Ads, Zuckerberg has displayed leadership qualities that involved constant change, adaptation and innovation that have proved successful in Facebook’s sustained survival.
