Twitter Makes Changes To Retweet Function

Twitter has recently adapted its retweet function, which many people will find helpful. If you often retweet other people’s tweets and are tired of having to shorten your comments, or if you do not like how other people’s profile pictures appear on your feed, you will be excited about Twitter’s change in retweet function.

This new update embeds the original tweet you want to retweet but also allows you to add in your comments.

In the past, Twitter simply used a static RT. This only allowed you to use the user’s exact Tweet and their profile picture would appear on your feed and your followers’ feeds. If you did not want this, the only option you had was to copy and paste the text into a new Tweet box.

Now, the embedded Tweets allow you to have more control to adding comments before a retweet. You also have the option of saying more this way.

Some people have had this option for quite some while as a way to test different formats and layouts for the best user experience.

The new retweet function is now available on both desktop and the iPhone app, and is coming soon to the Android app
