Our 5 Favourite Snapchat Filters
Snapchat is one of my personal favourite social media platforms, having been an early user, it was a no surprise to see Snapchat surpass Twitter’s number of daily active users and Facebook daily video views in such a short space of time! I love how Snapchat is mildly controversial, as it was created as the result of millennials seeking a more convenience means of communication when sexting ????.
Snapchat’s decision to introduce filters saw their engagement levels rocket with the slow adoption of sponsored filters adding to their growing revenue stream. With Taco Bell being one of the most recent brands to create a selfie lens that transformed Snapchat users heads into a taco with sauce drizzled over them and smashing all Snapchat records.
While some Snapchats are hilarious, others are cute, and some increase your selfie game ???? – the filters are never there for too long. Which I believe has increased people’s usage of Snapchat and addiction, every update has me thinking “I hope there’s new filters!” or “I hope they brought back that filter that made my eyes look really nice” … you know, to keep up with the selfies ????.
Here are my top 5 favourite Snapchat filters:
1) Puppy filter
Kendall Jenner supporting the Snapchat obsession with the most “basic” filter. This is one of the few filters that Snapchat never seems to get rid of (hence why it’s become known as basic).
2) Flower crown filter
I personally love this filter because of the way it changes the eye colour (it’s a hard life when you’ve got brown eyes). There’s more that meets the eye with this filter, as you can see Kevin Hart here sporting the beautiful flower crown… there is something else that doesn’t go unnoticed. This filter is known to give the user a more pale complexion, while there is nothing wrong with that – as it is a filter and they are meant to distort or change the face – this filter is known as the “pretty” filter.
3) Beard filter
I find this filter hilarious as not only does it look so real, but it’s good entertainment! A bit annoyed at how Victoria Beckham still looks gorgeous with facial hair, slay girl!
4) Reindeer filter
Is that Gigi Hadid or a reindeer?! I think this one is my favourites for obvious reasons…who doesn’t want to look like a blinged out reindeer with sparkles over their head? Amaziiiing.
5) Alien filter
This is another filter I find hilarious, with the tap of one finger, suddenly you look like ET! Plus, I think this filter really suits Justin Bieber ????.
Overall, Snapchat filters are amazing, although this was only my top 5 favourites, there are so many to mess around with on the actual app. In need of some procrastinating? I recommend you download Snapchat and play away with the filters, you won’t get much done … but you will definitely get a good laugh out of it!
