Instagram has grown from strength to strength in recent times for a variety of reasons, but recently more specifically for implementing Snapchats famous ‘Story’ feature.
This along with a handful of other variables have lead to growth surpassing social media rivals Twitter and establishing a brand loyalty amongst millennials.
We check out the top 10 stats that prove exactly why Instagram is King in general and in particular the younger demographic.
1) 68% of Instagram users are Females.
2) 32% of all Internet users are on Instagram.
3) 17% of teens say Instagram is the most important social media site (up from 12% since 2012).
4) 59% of internet users between the ages of 18 and 29 use Instagram.
5) There are 8 million registered businesses using Instagram business profiles.
6) In March 2017, over 120 million Instagrammers visited a website, got directions, called, emailed, or direct messaged to learn about a business based on an Instagram ad.
7) eMarketer projects that Instagram’s global mobile ad revenues will reach $2.81 billion this year, accounting for over 10 percent of parent company Facebook’s global ad revenues.
8) This year, 70.7% of U.S. companies will use Instagram for marketing, edging out Twitter for the first time.
9) 100 million users use the “stories” feature daily.
10) Instagram posts with at least one hashtag average 12.6% more engagement than those without.
